The Short Version
Shorthand AI is an AI marketing consulting service based in Long Beach, California. We help small and medium businesses set up AI marketing automation – the kind that saves you time, makes you money, and doesn’t require a computer science degree to maintain.
The Longer Version
My name is Daniel Midson-Short. I’m a marketer, a writer, speaker and the human behind Shorthand AI.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked as a business owner, sales trainer, and marketing consultant. For the past decade, I’ve been deep in the weeds of digital marketing and SEO; helping businesses figure out what works when it comes to getting found online and winning customers.
In the last two years, something has shifted dramatically.
AI tools went from being interesting experiments to genuinely useful marketing tools. As I watched the landscape change, I dove in headfirst – testing, building, breaking, and rebuilding AI workflows for marketing.
What I found was that most small business owners know AI is important, but they don’t have the time or expertise to figure it out on their own. And most of the “AI consultants” out there are either too technical, too expensive, or too focused on corporate clients to be useful.
That’s why I setup Shorthand.
Why ‘Shorthand’?
The name is a cheeky nod to my last name. But more than that, it’s a description of what we do with AI. We take the complexity of AI marketing and make it simple. We give you the shorthand version – what matters, what works, and what to skip.
What I Believe
I believe that AI should make your business better without making your life harder. I believe in win-win relationships – if what I set up for you doesn’t make you money or save you time, then I haven’t done my job. And I believe that quality rises to the top, even if it takes a little longer to get there.
I’m not here to sell you on hype. I’m here to help you use AI in a way that’s practical, profitable, and built to last.
